DVSA Earned Recognition Audits
In April 2018 The Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) launched its ‘Earned Recognition Scheme’.
Delta Bus Consultancy is proud to have been selected by the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT) to assist them undertake Earned Recognition Audits.
The DVSA’s Earned Recognition scheme allows bus, coach and lorry operators to prove that they meet the DVSA’s standards concerning legal undertakings, drivers’ hours, maintenance and other regulations and guidance.

Operating records such as tachograph analysis, Vehicle Unit (VU) readouts, maintenance logs and safety inspection records will be submitted electronically to the DVSA who will compare the results with agreed performance standards. These ensure that operators maintain safety standards and provide quality services to the public.
Participating operators who meet these standards will be recognised as ‘approved’ operators by the DVSA and can advertise this accreditation. They are also less likely to experience roadside enforcement checks or visits to their premises by the DVSA. This saves participating operators time and money and allows DVSA officers to target less compliant operators who create greater risk for their passengers and other road users.
Before joining the scheme, participants need to undertake an independent audit by DVSA approved and authorised auditors.
